Mr. Melvin is an educator leader, artist, and mentor who brings creativity and passion into the classroom. His contributions extend beyond academics as he leads our Film Club, directs school performances, and inspires students with his love for Spanish, literature, and the arts.
- Born in Salinas, Puerto Rico, Mr. Rodríguez is a published author and illustrator. His background includes:
- Journalism and Theater – Universidad del Sagrado Corazón, San Juan, PR
- Humanities – Fundación Ortega-Marañón, Toledo, Spain
- Master’s Studies in Puerto Rican Studies – Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y el Caribe, San Juan, PR
- His literary achievements as an author and illustrator include:
- En las montañas (2012) – A book of short stories
- No cierres los ojos – Puerto Rico’s first horror anthology (co-editor & illustrator)
- Co-president of Eikon, an independent book label
- Beyond teaching, he enjoys drawing, cooking, researching history, and reading horror & fantasy books.
