Reviews and final tests
Second Semester -- January to May 2014
 
Important  remarks:
 
• Students whose parents have a past due balance with the school will not be allowed to take the finals; this, until the balance is canceled.
 
• Students whose parents have a past due balance with the school will not be allowed to be allowed to participate in the Kindergarten promotion ceremony or the 8th grade graduation; this, until the balance is canceled. 

• IsiNet accounts will be blocked to those parents with a past due balance. All the fees must be up to date including annual fees, lunchroom, monthly payments, and monthly late fees.
 
Reviews and final tests schedule--- May 2014:
 From May 12th - 15th students will take their final tests in the morning.  There will be no classes in the afternoon. Lunch will be served.

Elementary level:
 
 
• 1st  thru 6th grade reviews—will be offered from May 7th  to 9th, during school regular hours.
 
• 1st  thru 6th  grade final tests—will be offered from May 12th  to 15th, from 7:50 AM -11:10 AM.  Lunch will be served; parents must pick up their children from 11:30 AM to 12:00 noon.
 
• Final test repositions will be on May 15th, from 9:40 AM-11:10 AM.

 
Secondary level:
 
 
• 7th  thru 11th  grade reviews — will be offered from May 7th   to 9th, during school regular hours.
 
• 7th  thru 11th grade final tests—will be offered from May 12th  to 15th
 
• Final tests for the secondary level will be from 7:50 AM-11: 30 AM from May 12th to 15th.  Lunch will be served; parents must pick up their children before 12:00 noon.

• Final test repositions will be on May 15th, from 9:40 AM-11:30 AM.
 
Important information:

 
1. Final tests are not partial, they are final. This means they must include basic skills for each subject covered in the semester.  The structure of the final tests will be multiple choice and critical thinking questions.

 
2. Reviews will include skills that will be measured in the test. Yet, those skills will not be presented in the test using the same form or structure as in the reviews.

 
3. Try to avoid students being absent for the finals. Any reposition will only be allowed if it is due to a justified cause.

 
4. Teachers will take their lunch break at 12:00 noon and cannot be responsible for the students after 12:00. They will utilize the afternoon to correct tests, work on the grades in the isiNet internet portal, and to work on the end-of-school year paperwork.

Pre-kinder and Kindergarten school schedule---May 2014
 
Pre-kinder:

 
• Will continue their regular school hours, from 7:30 AM-2:30 PM until Wednesday, May 14th, 2014.

 
• There will be no school on Thursday, May 15th, 2014 .  The teacher will be working on the end-of-semester paperwork and on the progress report.   

 
Kindergarten:

 
• Will continue their regular school hours, from 7:30 AM-2:30 PM until Monday, May 12th , 2014.

 
• There will be no school on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014.  The teacher and her assistants will be working on the preparation and decoration for the Kindergarten promotion ceremony. 

 
• Wednesday, May 14th at 8:30 AM –Kindergarten promotion ceremony at the “Colegio de Peritos Electricistas”, Barrio Tibes in Ponce (next to the “Centro Ceremonial Indígena.”)

 
• There will be no school on Thursday, May 15th.  The teacher will be working on the end-of-semester paperwork and on the progress report.        

 
Friday, May 16th, 2014 – will be the last day of school for all Washburn’s students.  Teachers will organize a simple “get together” to celebrate the completion of the second semester. No lunch will be served. Parents must pick up their children from 10:30 AM - 11:00 AM.
 
8th grade graduation
 
The 8th grade graduation ceremony will be held at the Fine Arts Center of Juana Díaz (Centro de Bellas Artes Ada Mage) on Wednesday, June 4th, 2014 at 1:00 PM.  The students and their teachers must be in the Center from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM.  The ceremony will start at 1:00 PM.

The 8th graders will receive their honor and high honor medals during the ceremony.  The details will be posted later in our webpage.

Awards Night
 
The Awards Night will be held at the Fine Arts Center of Juana Díaz (Centro de Bellas Artes Ada Mage) on Wednesday June 4th, 2014 at 7:00 PM.  Students from 1st through 6th; 7th, 9th, 10th and, 11th grade will receive their honor and high honor medals. The following awards will be given on the Awards Night:   Teacher of the year, Student of the year and Athlete of the year.  Students from the 8th grade will be presenting a musical. The details will be posted later in our webpage.
