Biography
Mr. Ángel M. Rivera has a bachelor's degree in The Teaching of English as Second Language. He has taught for ten years and has worked in the educational field in public, charter, and private school systems. In addition, he has designed curricular materials and educational modules, mentored teachers in the use of web-based educational programs, and even served as teaching team leader at Imhotep Institute Charter High School in Philadelphia PA, before coming to Washburn School. He has taught ESL, English, Literature, and Creative Writing. Besides his extensive teaching experience, he is the published author of various poetry and fiction books and is a member of PEN PR and a founder member and current leader of La Liga de Poetas del Sur (now known as Comunidad de Literatura, Arte y Cultura del Sur), as well as an independent publishing company, Eikon.
